"One day, in your wine shop,
    I drank a little wine,
And threw off the robe of this body
    And knew, drunk on you,
    This world is Harmony
    Creation, Destruction--
I am dancing for them both."
                                            --Rumi
Somatic - of, relating to or affecting the physical, corporeal body.

Our bodies (soma) serve us so dutifully and they are an incredible entry point for us to begin to explore the landscape of our emotional lives--the struggles and the joys! Our bodies hold not only our own stories, but they keep sacred the song of all humanity. To explore these mysteries is our birthright.

Soma (the body) has much to teach us. If we can learn to be still, to listen with the ears of the heart and to look with the eyes of the breath, we can truly become scholars of the Self.

Psychology - the science of mind and behavior.

Mind (psyche) and consciousness are beginning to be regarded as the vast, uncharted territory that holds the keys to our ultimate becoming--to our collective self-actualization or conscious human evolution. When inner exploration is paired with sacred movement and attention to body & breath, balance and integration are born. The practitioner is given a tabula rasa (a clean slate) upon which to write her or his new story of transformation.
